09 Aug Annual Social Enterprise Conference 2015
Our first ever UBC Social Enterprise Conference, under the theme ‘The Missing Piece’ was hosted on March 28, 2015 at the Henry Angus Building on the UBC campus. Delegates from all different faculties and experiences in social innovation had the opportunity to hear from thought leaders who have created immense scalable change within their respective fields and fellow students who have started their own social ventures. Founders from around the world of highly successful social enterprises creating change on a global scale and local heroes driving change in their own communities came out to connect with delegates at this inaugural event. The theme of ‘The Missing Piece’ was selected to highlight the potential of social enterprise and innovation to solve the world’s most massive, most pressing problems and progress humanity. Taking it one step further, delegates were challenged to think critically about how they can innovatively effect change in issues that they care about and work under the mentorship of incredible changemakers, becoming changemakers themselves.
